Sacred Space Yoga classes typically follow Victorian State School terms, varying in length from 8 – 11 weeks 

Term 1 2019: 29 January- 5 April (9 week term)
Term 2 2018: 23 April- 28 June (10 week term)
Term 3 2018: 15 July - 20 September (10 week term)
Term 4 2018: 7 October - 20 December (11 week term)

Fee Policy

  • If you come to a yoga class as a casual and decide to join for the term, your payment for the first class can be incorporated into your term fees
  • As we are a small yoga studio refunds will not be given for non attendance or if a student withdraws from a class at any stage during the term
  • If enrolled for the term and you miss a class, you can book in for a make-up class, if available, in that term.
  • If you have made a booking and are not able to come to class, please text or email prior to class
  • Cancellations for casual bookings are required 24 hours prior to class or full payment will be required
  • If a cancellation is made prior to the course commencing then all monies paid, minus a $50 non-refundable deposit admin fee, will be refunded
  • If we need to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances and you have paid for the term,  the amount will be credited to next term's fees

things to know before coming to a sacred space yoga class or course

  • Please call, text or email to book
  • Sacred Space yoga is located on the ground floor of a row of offices in Hawthorn East, just off Riversadale Road, before the tram terminal, on the city side of Camberwell Junction.
  • 2 hour parking is available in the surrounding streets and also on Riversdale Road. You can walk through the skateboard park to get to us. We are right next to the Hawthorn skateboard park just behind Riversdale Road. Please be mindful of parking restrictions in the area.
  • We are a one minute walk from the 70 or 75 tram on Riversdale Rd (Hastings Road Stop, Hawthorn East) and approx 10 minute walk from Camberwell Train Station, a couple of minute walk from Camberwell Junciton.
  • The yoga studio will open 15 minutes prior to the start of class
  • If you are new to Sacred Space Yoga, please arrive 15 minutes prior to class to allow time to register
  • Please arrive five to ten minutes before class and spend some time lying on your mat quietly relaxing in shavasana (Lying on the back, the arms and legs are spread at about 45 degrees, the eyes are closed. The whole body is relaxed onto the floor with an awareness of the abdomen rising and falling with each breath. All parts of the body are scanned for muscular tension of any kind, which is consciously released as it is found) 
  • Students are to ring doorbell to enter the studio. However, if the" do not ring doorbell" sign is out, it means the class has started and you are unfortunately too late for the class. We ask that you please allow adequate time for parking etc.
  • We ask that you please do not leave the class early as this will be disruptive to the other students.
  • Wear comfortable exercise clothes
  • Yoga is easier practiced with an empty stomach - preferably allow 2 hours after a meal, or an hour after a light snack
  • Please do not bring mobile phones into the studio, or ensure they are turned off (not on vibrate) before you enter
  • Please remove your shoes before entering the studio and place them on shoe racks in the entrance
  • Bags and other belongings can be placed in individual pigeon holes in studio 
  • Mats are provided but you are welcome to bring your own
  • Please be mindful of other students, and their sensitivity to strong smells when practising yoga, by arriving clean and fresh and refraining from wearing strong perfume etc
  • At the end of class please clean SSY mats with wipes provided, roll up blankets neatly and return blankets plus any blocks and straps to pigeon holes
  • Please listen to and honour your body without competing, striving, or pushing further than is comfortable so you do not injure yourself. If you are tired or cannot do a pose, please just rest in shavasana and imagine yourself doing the pose - all poses build on each other so all will come gradually. Patience with yourself is the key
  • While in the yoga studio (before, during and after class) please be mindful of creating a quiet sacred space for others
